Very Merry 2015: Part 2

Ah, Christmas morning.  Freshly brewed coffee, oven baked cinnamon rolls, gentle Chirstmas music, and the soft glow of twinkle lights illuminating the house..... and then the sound of a toddler cooing in her crib and a five year old racing down the hallway, not even bothering to rub the sleep from his eyes.

"It's Christmas!!"

And before we knew it, we were knee-deep in checking out gifts and digging through stockings and oohing and aahing over the loot that had magically appeared the night before.

Trying out the bean boozled jelly beans.... will it taste like brownies or canned dog food????

Santa found special glasses for cutting onions!!  (Now Mommy can retire her safety goggles back to the garage...)

Checking out the history of Dubuque book...

Everyone was excited about the Rock em Sock em Robots!

Charlie was soooooo excited to have Mason open the gift that he had chosen for him.  In fact, he begged Mason to open it for weeks leading up to Christmas.

A Miami Dolphins blanket that is just like Charlie's beloved Seahawks blanket!!  (Although truth be told, an Oregon Ducks pillow pet was also in the running.  He thought Daddy would "really love that!".)

Go Hawks!!

Happy Colon = Happy Life.  The Squatty Potty!!!

Charlie was more interested in Anna's gifts than she was--- Anna had zero interest in opening up gifts and was primarily interested in eating the munchies that were still nestled in her stocking,

As we finished up our gift exchange, Charlie looked at us and said, "Well, I guess I just didn't get two things I really wanted.  But that's okay.  I'm okay."  We asked if he had a good Christmas and if he was a little disappointed.  He said he was a little disappointed about not getting the football guys and a Kindle.  We nodded empathetically and then told him to open his last gift... a kindle fire.

My parents and Liz's family spent the rest of the weekend with us-- which was loud and chaotic and fun.  We lucked out with great weather and healthy kids-- neither of which changed until the next week!

My mom made these pillow things for the kids to lay on (or jump on or dive into or whatever...) which seemed to be the hit of the party!

Anna loves everything music and hasn't left this kitty piano alone since opening it on Christmas.  The best part?  When it doesn't get played for awhile it 'purrs' and then starts meowing.  Awesome.

We aren't sure who likes the Iowa Hawkeyes football guys more......

And what is Christmas in 2015 without a new selfie stick!?

And a true Christmas miracle--- everyone participating in a photo (only after a mild tantrum from the one refusing to wear clothes as well), looking in the same direction, and kind of smiling!!  Merry Christmas from the Spahn-Bomgaars-Harris clan.

Oh, and we still love them hawks.....even if we did end up crying during the entire rose bowl.
